People commit crimes when their needs or wants cannot be satisfied by legal actions, and they feel capable of getting away with it or that the reprocussions will be acceptable if caught.





The three methods of keeping them away from crimes are making sure their needs and wants can be satisfied legally, reassuring them(lying if need be) that they cannot get away with it, or telling them(exaggerating if need be) about all the horrible things that will happen if they get caught.





There is also moral educationI(telling them it is wrong to steal), but that really doesn't work.
I am a teenager. I have been pressured to commit crimes, and I know people who have. Not to mention, some of them do seem tempting. It's been proven that the part of the brain seperating right from wrong isn't fully developed in a teenager's brain. Also, teenagers get bored easily. That is the most simple answer I can give. And we'd do anything to have a little fun.
I'll tell you this, when I was younger I was endlessly curious and defiant, I would never listen to someone who told me to do something, and would not explain why I had to do it. I commited.. several crimes, most of them just because I wanted to know what it was like, or because i thought it was hilarious.. depending.. I can tell you that things I understood why they were bad I never would do, never killed anyone, never stole things that were for sale and only stole silly things.. the only vandalism i commited was easily undoable.. like changing a sign out side a chinese place from ';we have crab legs'; to ';we haa clab regs'; to poke fun of accent =p..





Ultimately for me, it came down to what I understood about right and wrong, and not that I understood WHAT was right and WHAT was wrong, but that i understood WHY it was right, or WHY it was wrong.





So what can you do?.. well, you can pay attention. Answer these questions to your kids whenever possible, especially if they ask.. Make sure that they know why something is wrong and never leave them with a simple ';because I said so';
becoz they know that they wont get into to much trouble as an adult would. and no matter what parents do to try to keep there kids away from bad stuff kids will always find themselves in a dilemma and peer pressure. so its up to the kid to no what to do and what not to do. its the parent job to advise them not control them coz that makes **** worst.
My son is 30 %26amp; I remember there was no place for him to be constructive. It wasn't cool. He was so bright %26amp; I he moved to another state to live on his own for a summer. He grew up a lot %26amp; the family he was around were immagrants who really appreicated the USA. They were encouraging %26amp; interested in education. My husband %26amp; I were not educated, didn't have much money %26amp; had to work. We lived in a conservative area %26amp; most of the people in my area are distant from each other. My son didn't have as much as most kids %26amp; yet he was determined to be successful. He did well, while most of his friends are still drifting. I just spoke with him %26amp; we spoke about how Obama is going to really change things for young people. My son %26amp; I spoke about the jobs in the country are going to end up being mostly gov. jobs %26amp; I was telling him that the young people are going to find a place for themself.....I really believe in young people can get a job with the gov. they are going to have a place %26amp; a purpose....teens now commit crimes b/c they have been depresses. Think about the last 8 years. It has been about greed, attacks, war, katrina %26amp; not helping people or atleast the people that should have helped. So in the USA it has been lacking in integrity. I just had someone explain how Obama actually made some new laws which go into effect Jan 1, which is why this Blagovich actually got into trouble. So while people are accusing him of being connected he is actually the reason the crooks are getting caught. People wonder why this man spoke in a phone %26amp; got caught but he was already caught.So he was departely to get things done fast. Anyway, kids were lost b/c of the structure in this country. Once they have work, education %26amp; community we will see a better situation with young people. It can not happen soon enough.
So that when they're adults they have all the knowledge and skills they need to become politicians.
Raise them fair but strict and have them attend church and Sunday school until they are at least 16.
coz teenagers are brave, smart and they don't die.
