Does the tv show Skins portray real english teenagers?
i live in america and u will NEVER find a show where the guys are really touchy feely with eachother unless theyre gay. does the skins show an accurate picture of how english kids are?
thanxDoes the tv show Skins portray real english teenagers?
thats how some teenagers act here, yes but not all of them. there all a bit ****** up in skins but alot of teenagers like it because they can compare to the characters! i think its a great show. :)Does the tv show Skins portray real english teenagers?
Not all. It makes the show more interesting if they make the characters like that. Sort of like in Teachers, they're always at the pub and treat the school kids like they know nothing at all or Footballers Wives where they're often having affairs with each others husbands. It just brings in more viewers.
Oh yeh deffinatly!
i love that show cant wait till 3rd seris! ;]
Dont know. I didn't think they were that touchy feely, they were just all kinda messed up.
I love that show.blush makeup

How are teenagers different in their relationships now then in the 70s & 80s?
anyone from the 70s and 80s - how was teen dating back then?
people from other time periods are welcome tooHow are teenagers different in their relationships now then in the 70s %26amp; 80s?
Back then guys were happy to 'steal' a kiss from a girl. And girls left much to the imagination by the clothes they wore. Relationships took their time in developing....not jumping into bed after 2 dates. It was so much more romantic. How are teenagers different in their relationships now then in the 70s %26amp; 80s?
HI,
Well from what I hear kids today are way into oral sex...like way young. I can tell ya that back in the day (and I'm not exactly old) Girls weren't letting guys go down on them...and vice versa. Surly not at the ages ya hear about today...like early teens...I'm still like wtf with this stuff they say on the news....Geeeez! No way were we doing that. Believe me we were way *cool* but this stuff wasn't happening...I guess we did other things. lol
Eileen
well they didnt have texts or IM or email so they would do more talking on the phone or in person i guess
Back then it was less sexual and more group dates.
girls seem more eager now...
We do more, much more.

What should teenagers do if they are pregnant at an early age?
They should be compelled to go into local schools as a warning to others...What should teenagers do if they are pregnant at an early age?
Tell you parents and get help to deal with itWhat should teenagers do if they are pregnant at an early age?
seek help from a councillar or guardian a doctor or anything don't keep it to themselves
dont think its the end of the world
Speak with someone they trust or an independent organisation such as the Brook Advisory Centres. They are in the phone book and will give impartial advice for free.
make a choice to hav it or not there going to be scared either way..it not a crime if they end up pregnant as adults do the same
they should say to there preants
Ask someone you trust what to do...not a kid though.
I would say probably carry on with the pregnancy and have the baby as the girl could regret having a abortion and look back on it with disgust of killing a life.
tell someone they trust
i got pregnant at 16. I finished high school with the help of my dad and daycare of course and now im 24 with a 7yr old and shes the joy of my life. getting pregnant isnt the end of the world but its best to wait so you can have your teenage years to cherish...
You should keep the baby because you are the one that made the mistake and you should deal with the consequences.
Talk to you mother or Call Birthright
They are a non-denomination (not religious) group that counsels girls who are or think they might be pregnant. They can help you talk to your parents so your parents don't get too mad atyou.
Ask someone whom you trust thats old enough to know. Go to a clinic ,maybe, just to double check and make sure that you are pregnant and talk to a doctor about what kind of options you may have.
Get an abortion, and enjoy your young life without that stupid thing happening to you again.
Decide whether or not abortion, addoption, or parenting is the best choice for them. Thats the first step. Teenage girls who are pregnant need to take care of themselves as well and find support in their community whether it is family, friends, co-workers, or a counselor.
get up and get a job to support their kid them tell parents then daddy of baby
Tell their parents and the father of the baby. Then make an educated decision, using the help of a pregnancy counseling center.
tell their mum as soon as possible they will b more angry if you urself dnt tell em first
Give the baby up for adoption and stop having sex until they are married.
tell ur parents and live with the consqwences
Learn quickly how to be adults.
adoption
Seek medical help - seek guidance, learn to say No and keep their legs closed.
Sash.
Seek out counseling.Abort or adopt the child out. I personally feel it will be best for you to not keep the child. My ow n opinion. But you definately need some sort of counseling and you need to have to talk to your parents
tell ur mum and tell her um im pregnant!
I'm not sure if this is you or your friend. Being pregnant can be exciting and very scary at the same time, regardless of age or if you've already got children. The first point of call is the doctor to confirm prenancy and to book in a dating scan for 8-9wks. A medical care provider will be able to monitor both mum and bub's health during pregnancy and intervene if necessary.
Second point of call is parents. This can be the most scary thing of all. They may be angry or surprised or sad or excited or bewildered or scared or a combination of all of the above. Parents can often be the best support and extended family is very important in baby's life.
Information and support are going to be invaluable during this time. Look forward to the baby's future and what the long term goals for a family are.
Good luck!
They should confined in a responsible adult and see a doctor to talk through the different options available to them.
I am 16 and had my daughter 3 months ago when i was 15 but every time i look at her i know shes worth it but then again if theire not ready considering other options may be better and it should be though through very carefully and not on ther own and should do what they thing is best for them
First dont listien to the people telling you to kill your baby. You have to find out first then talk to your parents and boyfriend about it. Im 16 and im 18 weeks pregnant i wouldnt change it for the world. You had sex You got pregnant so dont try to pawn your baby off on someone else.

Why do teenagers love to talk in dirty language?
Some are curious what would happen if they do.
Some just follow suit if their friends/influences do it too.
Some follow from their parent's path.
And some had done all of the above.
And had it as a habit.
Anyway, teenagers don't have a monopoly over curses though. Why do teenagers love to talk in dirty language?
Sometimes it is about a feeling of ';power';- they are able to talk this way when their parents aren't around, so they use the language as an expression of autonomy. I tell my children that using language like that makes you sound unintelligent and ignorant. My 8 year old refuses to even read outloud the word ';shut up'; in a book- she finds bad language offensive (and I hope it stays that way!) I think that if parents work hard to model for their children the way that they should talk, and talk about why bad language is inappropriate, offensive and takes away your intelligence appearance, children are more apt to shy away from using it as teens. Why do teenagers love to talk in dirty language?
defiance. testing boundaries.
But, it's not only teenagers who love to speak with sailors tongues.
I guess because you can understand it more.
to get attention to see how far you will let it go i gave my teens permission to say certain words when its just us at home but never in public and i explained that people who use words like that sound less intelligent then others i took them to the mall and we just sat and watch groups of teens and how they talk to each other after that they use allot less cuss words
Because they are teenagers and they like to rebel and also get attention from their parents. That and they think swearing is cool.
ohh i didnt know it was only teenagers that did that.
because it doesn't bother them. they care more about the package and less about the wrapping paper. why should they speak in baby talk just to not offend someone?
Probably makes them feel like grown ups...
because its easy to express their feelings
Teenagers speak vulgar language because of society. Often times they hear their parents foul language as a child and looking up to our parents can be influential in that sense. Then there comes school... there are children there that listen to it at their own homes and it becomes this never ending cycle. Parents also do not monitor what their children are watching on TV as much as they should. Children are very susceptible to influence and wanting to be like their peers. No one wants to seem an outsider and that just seems to be the cycle of life as sad as it is
Because I think They Like to Be Cool Around There Friends And Try And Show Off

Are teenagers meant to hate their parents?
Yet another theory I was told ages ago. A guy was telling me that the brain has a built in 'time limit' for liking the parents as much as it encourages them to go out and make a life for themselves. They said this was still around from older times when it was more relevant.
So does anybody know if there is any truth in it? Again, this is not my personal beliefAre teenagers meant to hate their parents?
Im pretty sure teens are not meant to hate their parents, there just in that age where they want all this freedom and get mad when it doesn't happen. Are teenagers meant to hate their parents?
I dont think that teenagers are BORN to hate them, but as teens grow older, at times, that may hate them, but in the end the hate never last.
no there not infact teen agers have this thing like if their going through periods thy kind of flip over smthing so small and if there not they have a problem but in the inside they just want a hug.
i have no idea but it dosent sound true i think it's from all the hormos and **** but idk but i do hate my parents and dont really know y
no they wernt. all it is, is the hormones and puberty. it was not to be meant that way:)
i don't like my mom. but i like my dad and grandmother

What are some creative date ideas for teenagers?
If you wanna get some action I say that you go to a restaurant by the beach and eat there later in the day so it starts to get kinda dark by the time you're done eating it'll be dark and then just ask her if she wants to go walk by the beach and then walk with her and then sit at a bench and hold her and then you can start making out and then when you get back to the car make out with her some more... or go to the museum or an art gallery or something like that. What are some creative date ideas for teenagers?
I would say rollerblading at the beach or something along those lines. It gives you a chance to be a little bit flirty eg. Act like you are going to fall or something and grab on to stop..Stuff like that. It allows good honest flirting.

Why are so many atheists here annoying teenagers?
Teens have to rebel somewhere don't they? Also, when you are a teen, you think you know everything, so it's natural that they are too smart for all the religious people in the world. Therefore they come here to display how superior their views are than others. Why are so many atheists here annoying teenagers?
Most of the atheists I'm familiar with here are past their teen years.
In fact, the majority of R%26amp;S regs aren't teens, at least not the ones I see most frequently.
But even if they were, what would it matter? I believe 13 is the age limit here. Why are so many atheists here annoying teenagers?
There are a lot of diffrent ages here this is what makes it so good to visit, People just want to ask a few questions and get an answer so weather they are young or old or believe in God or not we are all here for a reason,So whats yours??
I was once one too. I grew up in Berkeley so I was fed it through out my life. Its hard to understand and believe in something you cant see and touch, plus the only religious examples I had or had heard of were from christian extremists.
I don't remember putting my age in when I made a Y!As account. Maybe because the only age group you think are annoying are teens.
Try going to a movie near a senior citizens neighborhood. They're more routy than teens.
Sorry that Tifa had to get a boob reduction in Advent Children Cloud...but it's rather funny talking about a group being annoying teenagers when your avatar is a FF character, eh?
because most of the people here are teenagers, so therefore most of the atheists here are teenagers
Am I an annoying teenager?
I think that there are a lot of people who are younger who are learning to believe things for themselves.
And also, we're the ones who are most offended. Sorry. ;)
i dont believe most people here are teens ..atheist or otherwise
in fact, i think far more middle age and seniors are attracted to the religion section than teens
go to Entertainment/Polls and Surveys ... lots of teens there
Thats not very nice of u 2 say 2 us teenagers! We r, lyke, so not annoying!!
And just how do you know how many of us there are?
Also, anyone's opinion is just as good as anyone elses...
last i checked i was an adult.
edit: and also most of your questions are rather racist or stereotypical so people have strong opinions of that. never seen anyone that annoying on here.
Why are so many theists here annoying final fantasy characters?
Some probably are. But I doubt you could tell everybody's age by what they write, or what they believe.
I haven't been a teenager for about 34 years, though I do go out of my way to be annoying at times.
why do middle aged people have liver spots, nobody knows so quit whining and go into your corner
It doesn't explicitly say so, but i know some are. A lot are just trolls who get their kicks trying to annoy people.
Annoying? Maybe you just can't comprehend us...
Oh, and I'll be 20 in a few months, so... go suck one.
Why are you here annoyng everyone? Did your Veggie Tales DVD get scratched?
I'm 53, but terribly immature.
Because we are young and smart and the future belongs to us!
probably thinks they are funny
they like to mix with childish believers perhaps?
Why is the same true for many of the believers?
Poor Cloud :(
And how old are you?
I'm very proud of them.
I like to annoy teenagers - what of it?
Seriously. Someone needs to tell them to go bug someone else.
Since they took the Bible and prayer out of school this is what you get. Corrupted children who have no morals or respect for anyone even themselves.
The don't want to believe in God because they would rather be bad without dealing with guilt.

KIDS/TEENAGERS: What do you want to be when you grow up?
I am 19 and I am in college trying to find myself I have no idea what I want to be. I have it narrowed it down to my 3 passions.
. Screen Writer/Producer - I am obsessed w/ movies and have a great imagination and knack for writing movies, so I think I would be good @ this and so does my Film Studies Professor as well as my peers.
. Ambassador - I am very worldly and knowledgeable in history and countries worldwide. I also have a knack w/ socializing and resolving problems and I love to travel and been to all sorts of places. I would love this job and my History and International Relations Professors think this would be a good fit for me and so do my HS history teachers.
. Basketball player in the NBA. I play collegiality and have always been good and I love basketball. All my coaches from rec. leagues to high school to college have said I have a lot of skill. This is the hardest profession for me to get into though. KIDS/TEENAGERS: What do you want to be when you grow up?
It's between:
A Travel Agent -- Which are having their jobs being cut because of a machine, So just guessing that isn't gonna work out to well if a computer can to my job for less money ... I most likely wouldn't have many customers...
or
A Spy / Detective -- Someone who investigates murders and smugglings and stuff like that. But Spy because I think it would be the coolest to be undercover ;)
KIDS/TEENAGERS: What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be an accountant, with maybe a webdesigning job on the side, or maybe a full webdesigning job. I haven't tottally decided yet, but I still have a lot of time to figure that out. I mean who knows there might be a chance that in a few years I won't want to do either one of them.
i'm almost 17, and i have no idea what i want to do
i love art, and i'm pretty damn good at it, but i don't want to do that for a living
i want to have a career in fashion or music or something
well, ive always wanted to be a fashion-ish person.
and i have a passion for photography,
but, i also want to be a dermatologist or pediatrician.
I'm already grown up, but if I could do it again, I'd be a plastic surgeon. It'd be awesome to help people who have severe deformities or who've been disfigured in an accident, and give them a new life!
things i might wanna be:
-photographer
-computer programmer
-game designer
-or possibly an elf
...yep thats about all im thinking about doing right now..

Why is it considered ';adult language'; when the only people that use it are teenagers and children?
i swear all the fuuccking time and i'm 31 goddamned years oldWhy is it considered ';adult language'; when the only people that use it are teenagers and children?
Since adults use the phrase ';adult language'; to discourage children to use those words. However, by calling them adult words you are only telling them that if they want to be like an adult to use those words... (not really on topic i guess..)
Because adults generally have realized that it is inappropriate to use those words in public they normally reserve that kind of language limited use, however teenagers and children sort of use it as a way to show that they are more grown up. Why is it considered ';adult language'; when the only people that use it are teenagers and children?
That's what makes it so entertaining for teenagers and children.
%26lt; Adult with a very child like vocabulary :P
People want to be juvenile.
lmao.
good point!
maybe it should be renamed ';teen language';
:D
It's a conundrum, is it not?

Not your age, your spelling sucks.
At first I thought you wanted to date parents and teens at the same time.
So I was like, ';Wow D000D!11!11!';.
15, but my sister is 11 and claims shes ';in love'; and ';dating'; right now.
i think 15 is when you could start having REAL feelings, not just fun kiddy stuff like my sister.blush makeup

How many calories would you say you teenagers eat per day?
oh gosh. When I was a teenager I ate somewhere around 3,000 calories a day. And I never weighed more than 90 pounds! Dang I wish it was as simple now.How many calories would you say you teenagers eat per day?
i'm a fifteen yr old girl and i eat around 1,700-1,800 calories
i think a normal teenager maintaining their weight eats around 2,000
(2,300 calories- if you are a guy)
if you're trying to lose weight, i suggest you going around 1,200-1,600
do not go any lower, seriously, when i do i feel awful %26amp; get bad headaches, also i think it slows your metabolism more.
some sites that will give you tips/resources for losing weight or just maintaining a healthy weight/lifestyle Try:
Livestrong.com
mypyramid.com (i think it's under maintance right now)
or sparkteens.com
all of those are great help to me.
good luck!
xoxoHow many calories would you say you teenagers eat per day?
it depends on each teenager. It depends on gender and your weight/height/ physical activity level. Someone who is very physically active needs to obtain more calories than someone who does little to no physical activity
19 m and I eat 3,000 every day mostly in protein and carbohydrates.
Well When I Go To School I Eat Around 700
But Because It The Holidays And I Can Actually Have A Lunch About 1300
I used to eat around 2500-3000 a day...never got fat...
But now I eat 1400 cause I got anorexic -_-
Ah, life sucks at times. xD
That really depends, are you talking about an anorexic teenage girl, or a kid that eats three Big Macs a day? :p

Bullying & abusing are problems among contemporary teenagers?
Very true....and, if you're one who is getting bullied then take action. My niave mother used to give me the line of, ';Pay not attention, and they will leave you alone!'; BULLSHIT!!!!! Bullies will keep threatening and creating stress on their victims until something is done. Tell your teacher or principal (this is not being a tattletale). If they do not take action, then call the police and report the person. If push comes to shove, then fight back. I am not saying you will win, but, I have found that if a bully sees you're not just going to take it, they show that they themselves are cowards and will leave you alone. But, don't just ignore the problem thinking it will go away. It will only get worse. Best of luck.Bullying %26amp; abusing are problems among contemporary teenagers?
these are all not new to the world. this has been there from time immemorial and it is there now, it will be there later also.
there are a number of ways to contain such things. normally those who heed to such things are those without confidence. they also wish from their inner mind to happen bullying and abuses. suppose a girl going to college, every day on her way, few guys abuse her with lovely words or nasty words. she does not heed or hear such abuses. this is there every day . but, one day on her way to college, boys/guys are not there at that place for abusing. her mind will be, her eyes will be, searching them looking around, thinking of them...
timely reporting to parents, principal, police etc will help to a certain extent but they may revenge it later. this is to be taken care of
BUT there are ways, build self confidence, attend some karate, yoga, etc choose the correct path thru which i have to walk, thru which i have to grow, thru which i have to reach my destiny, thru which i have to attain my goal, make mind bold enough to face any adverse happenings in the world.

true i used to get bullied alot and now i'm really shy around new people and i have to be aroun my mates otherwise i feel really insecure. bullying can aso cause self harming several of my friends chose that path but to be honest it doesn't help at all. i don't think there really is a cure for bullying the best thing really is to cope with it and eventually it will stop but always tell an adult! they can help with depression and such.
No don't fight back unless needed!

Teenagers from UK in Benidorm, are the police strict?
11 lads aged 17 - 19 going, worried they may just be drunk all the time and get into troubleTeenagers from UK in Benidorm, are the police strict?
It was absolutely madness when I went to Benidorm and I didn't see a police offer for a full 2 weeks stay. The clubs have security but really only tosses the crazy ones out to go roaming the streets.
But as they are a large group I'm sure they can look after each other but I'm not sure I would let my teenager (don't have one yet :) go to Benidorm drinking. (If I had a say, that is.)
Do tell the young men to be super careful about their drinks, the drinks should not be left unattended at any point, drugs is so easily slipped into a drink, can or bottle and all it takes is a split second. As soon as one looses control over oneself one is an easy target for any crime, especially when you're not in your own country.

Teenagers have too many choices available?
What's your view?Teenagers have too many choices available?
In what way? The question is very unclear?
There are a lot more opportunities available for us now I guess. Better education and more chances in later life. But we get bad press because of youth violence and ****, when most of us are not like that.

If movie ''paranormal activity'' is R rated, why did i see so many teenagers there?
umm no one checks ur id anymore unless you want to get a student discount.... PS. THAT MOVIE WAS AWEEESOME!!!If movie ''paranormal activity'' is R rated, why did i see so many teenagers there?
Most movie theaters have slips that a parent would have to sign now days for the teenager to watch the R rated movie.
Basically its a permission slip.
I believe the parent can also sign for others too.
You just have to have someone over 18 sign it for you.If movie ''paranormal activity'' is R rated, why did i see so many teenagers there?
Because they buy a ticket for a non R rated movie, then go into the theater that is showing the R rated one.
The rating system makes way for the cotton wool kids that will be scared by things. I could deal with anything from about 12, so could mos people. Who really cares?
The only people who like R movies are teenagers.
That's irony.
The rating system is just a suggestive guide. It isn't law or anything.
Each theater has its own policy.
B/C that's the movie to go see right now and ratings don't matter to teenagers.
2 things buy a diffrent ticket for a pg-13 movie and go to that one or fake id
Cause maybe they were like 16 or 17 and could pass for 18. Or they were with adults but just not sitting with them.
I thought it was a 15,anyway if kids have a fake ID they get in because the cinema doesn't care,it's getting them more money!

Philip is stupid.
They probably lie about there age.
it's a scary movie they all want to see it and be scared out of there mind.
most get their older mates to buy the ticket for them
because its not scary..just jumpy
Who cares?
cuz we just walk in no one really cares

Teenagers, what are the best places to shop?
I find myself going to a bunch of different stores. I like a whole bunch of different fashions, but I don't usually always like the ones that are 'in style'. Though, I've been complemented on my fashion and people have been thinking that I'm a few years older than I am because I have a style that not many others my age seem to. Or at least, that's what I've been told.
I go to stores like:
Charlotte Russe, H %26amp; M, Rue 21, Zumiez, Forever 21 (Occasionally), Filene's Basement (Occasionally I find really cute stuff there and the shoes on the clearance wall are often really cheap.), Buckle, Steve %26amp; Barry's, and Payless Shoes.
Honestly, you just have to look around and see what stuff you like and what you don't. And I don't mean going to all these stores in one day, just looking at one or two stores when you go out to shop. And it's really when you're looking at local stores or stores that you don't really expect to have anything that you find those unique or really interesting pieces that change your wardrobe. You just have to keep an open mind and look to find what you think looks good.
Hope I helped,

I need some funny monologes for teenagers can some one help me plz i will be very greatful?
I have done some research on places on the internet where you can find monologues of all types, including teen monologues, monologues for girls, women, men, comical monologues, short comedic monologues, etc. I also answer a lot of questions about how to effectively memorize a monologue as well as about common mistakes that actors often make while performing a monologue for an audition. On this page on my site for new and aspiring actors, you will find all that information including links to the types of monologues you are looking for. http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/comic鈥?/a>
Good luck in your audition.
TonyI need some funny monologes for teenagers can some one help me plz i will be very greatful?
Funny, well, anything from a farce could be very funny, or even just a comedy. Personally, I've used a prologue from a book for a monologue, it was about cadavers and wasn't supposed to BE funny, yet ended up being funny anyway. Find a book or play that makes you laugh, then see if you can find a good-lengthed monologue in it. That's my advice.I need some funny monologes for teenagers can some one help me plz i will be very greatful?

Teenagers: Are we growing up OR is the world just getting smaller?
its getting hotter thats for sure..
hintity hint hint to the global warmingTeenagers: Are we growing up OR is the world just getting smaller?
well idk if this is really what you're asking, but it seems that people are getting shorter!! like we have this bar that goes along the walls of my old school, and all the kindergardeners are getting shorter!!! and its not just me that's getting taller, the kindergardeners are getting lower and lower/closer and closer to the ground!! :P lolTeenagers: Are we growing up OR is the world just getting smaller?
teenagers are growing up to fast because the world is getting smaller by the fad.
Sweetie- I am pretty sure if the world was getting smaller, everyone would be getting bigger, and there are grandma's and grandpa's getting smaller everyday, so we are getting bigger. Haha, it is true.
One of the hardest and most pivotal times of your life is when you leave high school and loose connections you have held for years. There will be many other moments, but this one...is a biggie.
It's definitely getting smaller. I went back to my middle school recently, and the halls used to be HUGE! Now I can touch the ceiling... they definitely shrank. A lot.
TEENAGERS ARE DEFINITIELY GROWING UP. ALL THE LITTLE KIDS I USED TO TORTURE ARE GETTING BIGGER NOW LOL
Growing up, i think so.
Ya know what, I saw teens of our age caressing each other in the JEEPNEY!?. :)) It's so high school! :)) is this sensible? :))
We are growing up and the world should be getting bigger not smaller.
we r deff growing up because we r getting older and we start to have new needs
We're growing up...thus, making the world smaller. So, both I guess. It sucks.
AHHHH were growing up and it sucks
I ask myself that everyday lol
we r soooooo growing up
We're growing up :(
I want to stay 16 forever :P
We're growing up

I'm fairly sure it's getting smaller!

Why are we teenagers so ignorant these days?
plenty of elderly people are ignorant, the levels of ignorance depend on individual life experience. there are adults who think drugs, sex and abuse only exist in the ';ghetto'; and there are teenagers who have seen enough for a lifetime of wisdom. Why are we teenagers so ignorant these days?
Adults have complained about kids being ignorant since we developed language. They are just as ignorant and just as brilliant as they ever were.
You are just getting old enough to realize that there is a difference between the young and the old... and, yeah, I called us both old.Why are we teenagers so ignorant these days?
teenagers have always been ignorant. You just haven't noticed till now.
What?? we are not ignorant is adults the ones who are stupid but I notice that as i get smarter they get even smarter that's a good thing right!!

What are some good Investing books to give to teenagers?
These are three I found on Amazon.com - any thoughts?:
The Teenage Investor by Timothy Olsen -
- The Motley Fool Investment Guide for Teens
-- Complete Idiot's Guide to Money for Teens - by Susan ShelleyWhat are some good Investing books to give to teenagers?
I do not have any experience with those. But a book you might consider is ';Rich Dad, Poor Dad';. Robert Kiyosaki, about $11.00 on Amazon. What are some good Investing books to give to teenagers?
I would say the Peter Lynch's books. Start with One Up on Wall Street. It is a good book. Easy to read. Offers lots of examples. And it makes investing looks easy. It is about buying stocks that you know. It shatters the myth that investing is a rocket science and everyone can be good at it given enough work.
';Buy a Star from Jenab6';
';Real Estate in Heaven, an Investor's Guide to the Afterlife,'; by Jenab6
';How to Solicit Autographs from Prominent Demons,'; by Jenab6
';Writing Little Books and Selling them for Huge Profits,'; by Jenab6
All those books sound great but as a teenager I would have only finished a book that was a bit less dry.
Maybe your kids are better than me but I'd recommend a novel which happened to also have a financial theme. Yeah, I know you're going to say ';like what'; ...
';Reminiscences of a Stock Operator'; is great by Edwin Lefevre despite the fact that it is 70 years old or something. Sort of like The Great Gatsby on steroids - a really enjoyable and funny read. Not as good but still enjoyable maybe ';Liar's Poker'; by Michael Lewis. I'd also be interested in what other people come up with in that vein that I haven't read if you're allowed to answer a question with another question. (-:
Muncie named an excellent book, ';Rich Dad, Poor Dad';
Also, I like How to make money in stocks by William O'Niell or Mastering the Trade by John Carter
On general life stuff, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind is great too.
Some awesome places to start. Congrats on helping someone start young!
I'm a teen and a good book that I recomend is The Richest Man in Babylon. I has the overview of saving and investing, yet not the specifics on modern trading.
$7 at amazon. Definately a good buy.
http://www.amazon.com/Richest-Man-Babylo鈥?/a>
The two you found were good. Also grab this one, it's cheap and an awesome read: The Best Stocks You Can Buy 2007. John Slatter. It's updated yearly and the first chapter is all about how to invest and diversification. I got it for about $8 at Amazon.
Good Luck Friend!!

UK - Why are teenagers walking round with their hands down their tracksuit bottoms?
It's the latest in chav culture - look at a group of guys hanging out and at least one will have his hands down his trousers! Not in his pockets.... is it to prove something I guess??UK - Why are teenagers walking round with their hands down their tracksuit bottoms?
Because that's where they keep what passes for their brains.UK - Why are teenagers walking round with their hands down their tracksuit bottoms?
They are protecting them because they are scared that sane and normal people are gonna kick them in their tiny balls cos they know they look like idiots!!!! Gawd their hands must stink!!!!!
checking to see if their testicles have dropped yet?
We have itchy balls, what we mean to do !
Because they are P rats! one of them does it so they all do it... my mates do it... i actually say to them what the bleep are you doing!! you dirty bleeping bleep! lol same goes witht he wearing the trousers round the knees... i go round offering belts out... but i get funny looks... i woulder thought they would be the ones getting funny looks for showing off their dirty underwear! lol
checkin' they are still nobs
So that no one molest them. UK seems to have more than their fare share of child molesters.
They have to make sure their brains are still functioning lol
lol usually chavs..but when it cold your genital area is surprisingly warm and will warm yur hands up...or so i have been told
It would appear chavs hands are superglued to their bollocks and mobiles that blare out bad music..
Either the phone or a bottle of stella for lads! For the girl its 2 fones...
Because they are a bunch of bellends. They are trying to be like Al Bundy. They are Chavs!!!!!!
'Cause in the case of some, it's the closest thing to sex they'll get getting anytime soon.
I think it may be a comfort thing. Unfortunately, my husband does it when he is overtired. It may be that those teenagers aren't that secure with who they are or have some stress problems that they just can't deal with. Many of them probably don't realise they are doing it!!
To get to the other side
I honestly don't know. Its something Ive been annoyed by for years. I don't get the point. I think its because it makes them look ';hard';. Id love to see someone with their hands down their pants fall over and not get their hands free in time.
They are keeping a check on their cucumber and red onions.
It's the only way they can keep their drawers up seeing as it is de rigueur to reveal 4'; of their overpriced fashion label underpants at all times.
They seem to be oblivious to the fact that they look like oversized babies from the rear and you can see the builders bum through the thin cotton. It's very tempting to tug at their droopy trews...come to think of it my dog can easily be trained....ha ha ha.
To hide the handcuffs.
Can't say i've ever seen anyone doing that. Where the hell do you live?
';hide the handcuffs'; that's funny!
Like everything else these jackasses do-----It's just to pizz
off regular people. These goofs have nothing to ADD to
society. They realize that they will never be noticed for their contributions to society,so they find dopey ways to be noticed. Petulant, ignorant 9 year olds is who they all remind me of.

Why are American teenagers so hung over appearance and the opposite sex?
When other kids their age are still trying to come out of their childhood years, Americans have started to ';age'; mentally. Why are American teenagers so hung over appearance and the opposite sex?
It's not just America. I live in Britain and was appalled when I was out shopping and saw a bra...for a 5 year old!! Also some of the clothes are just dreadful too. I've seen little girls out with their mothers wearing knee high boots, mini skirts and boob tubes. The mind boggles! Why are American teenagers so hung over appearance and the opposite sex?
You forgot to include they are attracted to the same sex too.
It's not only American teenagers it's all teenagers. Blame it on lack of good parenting skills, the media, esteem issues and ';it's all a part of growing up.';
the toxic combo of hormones, media, and Hollywood
it's not only Americans that are like that. it's other nationalities too. everyone's like that, trust me!! cause they're horny little f.u.ck.s haha..no i'm kidding, cause they're at that age, where they start being sexual...
They are (most of them) are just rich asses. They havent seen or not seeing any real life, all they care about is pumped muscles, flat abs booby ladies.its a good example of how corporations, media can manipulate humans and use them ,really they are inside some MATRIX
They see it on tv as so designed by American advertising companies.
The sad thing is, don't expect people to outgrow it. It is the way the world works. Elderlys even do it.
If teenagers do not have to worry about getting food, staying warm, clothing, and other necessities, they will be able to concentrate on their other 'needs'. On a backward Indian Reservation in Montana, most of the Indian kids quit studying in the sixth grade. Most all the girls were having their first baby in their middle teens and not married. Their basic needs are taken care of from the cradle to the grave!!
Its because they feel as though they need to impress the opposite sex so they seem wanted... feeling wanted is the whole point.. feeling like someone wants you and that you blend in with the crowd... thats what its about... when they older though, they tend to not care anymore
Ah, are you saying that only American teenagers are interested in looks and in the opposite sex's looks? If so, I think you need to do some traveling.
It is part of growing up.
most teens are actually like this...not just american teens. but in america it just might be alittle worse because of the media.
Actually all teenagers generally act the same way. This is not only a product of culture but also brain development. Teenagers still tend to think that the world is focused on them, and anything, a pimple, a hair out of place, can ruin their outlook on life.

Who do you think has it easier in life teenagers or adults?
Life never gets easier. As a adult, you can make your own decisions, but you are responsible for paying bills. As a teenager, someone pays for what you need, but you are not allowed to do what ever you what.
Who do you think has it easier in life teenagers or adults?
Who said that anyone ever had it easy? In my opinion, the good old days are the good old days because they happened in the past. When you go through them, no matter what age, you're bound to think you got the short end of the stick. Either that, or some people really do have a grasp on reality these days :)Who do you think has it easier in life teenagers or adults?
I KNOW teenagers do. Things were emotionally very hard then, but now I have a kid, a bf, bills and house and car payments. Having to make your own money and take care of yourself makes things much more difficult.
Teenagers, they don't have to go out and make a living, raise a family, pay the bills, keep food on the table, clothes on their backs and a roof over their head, oh, wait that is a prison inmate. hm
adults
good luck
Teenagers.
Adults.
teenagers
Adults. The teenage years of my life have been so tough and I am still living as a teenager!!!
Teenagers for sure......
adults of course

I'm fourteen and I'm having a halloween party with about 30 people, I know we'll have music and dancing and stuff, and I'll prob play a scary movie in my living room but what are some fun games to play? (not like musical chairs) Thank youuu(:Fun games for teenagers to play at party?
Spin the bottle is always a hit. Just be careful with it. Truth or dare, sometimes it can be fun, if you are creative with it. Dounut eating contest, no hands or grab an apple in a tub of water with your teeth, no hands also. Have plenty of refreshments and cool music.(:Fun games for teenagers to play at party?
Chair Swap
For this game you will need enough chairs for everyone, except for one person, to have one. Arrange the chairs in a circle and have everyone sit down except for the remaining person, who starts off in the middle of the circle. Pick a random starting point somewhere on the circle and have everyone count off (starting with one) until everyone in the circle has a number.
To play the game, have the person in the center call out two numbers. The people who have been assigned those two numbers must quickly switch seats. Meanwhile, the person in the center’s task is to get to one of the empty seats first. Whomever is left without a seat starts the game off again in the center, and the players who switched seats assume the number of their new seat.
The Greatest Story Ever Told
What you'll need:
• Pad of lined paper
• Pen or pencil for each player
• 2 or more teens
How to play:
The first person starts the story by writing down the first sentence and then hands off the pad of paper to the next person. That person continues the story with the next sentence before handing off the pad of paper. Let the pad meander around the party until everyone who wants a chance to write something, gets to. Then let the host read the story to all of the guests - it ends up being a real hoot!
Blind Obstacle Course
Set up a simple obstacle course that involves items to walk around, step over, and duck under. Students work in pairs. One member of each team is blindfolded and must rely on their partner to direct them through the course. Leaders must give clear, specific directions, and followers must rely solely on their listening skills to gather information about how to navigate the course. Another great activity for promoting teamwork.
Blind Water Balloon Volleyball
Using a van or opaque shower curtain, lay down two bed sheets on each side of whatever his hanging in the center as the “net.” You should not be able to see through the “net.” Have each team sit on their bed sheets with their water balloons. Each team tries to throw over a water balloon so that it hits the sheet on the other side. Because the teams cannot see the other team, it is harder to be ready to catch the flying water balloons.
Sardines
This is a fun version of Hide and Seek for a lock-in. We played in the basement level of the library with most of the lights off to add a spookier atmosphere. All the teens huddle together in a small space while one goes and hides in another small space. The teens leave the first hiding spot one at a time, counting to 50 before the next teen leaves, to look for the hidden teen. When the hidden teen is found, the seeker hides with him or her. Everyone who finds the hiding place hides with them until all the teens are packed in like sardines. The game can then continue with the last teen going to hide in another place until the teens tire of it.
Blindfolded Shoe Shuffle
Required: Blindfolds and shoes
Players: Medium to large groups
Each person puts on a blindfold and takes off their shoes. They then throw them into a pile in the middle of the floor. The referee then jumbles them all up and then shouts GO! The first person to find their shoes by touch and smell alone and put them on is the winner.
Frozen T’s
Required: Plastic storage bag, freezer and large size T- shirts
Players: Small to large groups
For each team you'll need one T- shirt and one plastic storage bag. Place one nicely folded T-shirt in each bag then pour in about 2 cups of water and freeze all of them overnight. If this wasn't done where the event is taking place bring the T-shirt in a cooler filled with ice to keep them frozen. Instruct the teams that they'll be playing an Ice Breaker game. Then hand out the bagged T-shirts to each team. On ';Go'; the teams will have to get their T-shirts thawed out so that one person from their team can put the T-shirt on. Teams will get creative in their attempts to win. They could run the shirts underwater, put them in the microwave and even pounded the ice out of them. The first team to come back with one person in the T-shirt is the winner.
Ice Cube Hunt
Required: Ice cubes, food coloring and winter weather
Players: Small to large groups
Make up several ice cubes trays with food coloring in water. Once you have made ice cubes, distribute into search area. The person to find the most colored ice cubes is the winner.
Blind Fetch
Required: Blindfolds and Team Handball
Players: Small to medium groups
Set up two to three teams and assign one person on each team to be blindfolded. Once all chosen players are blindfolded and teams are established, have one person throw out the ball into the play area. Each team is to stand back from behind a designated line and instruct their teammate where the ball is by yelling out instructions. If a player finds the ball, they are to return to the team while still blindfolded and they receive 3 points. If another person with a b
Try the one game where you put four chairs in a square and then somebody lays on each one. Each person will have their head on somebody's lap, and their feet on the ground. Then take two chairs away at a time(the two facing each other). Now everyone is supported by just the other people. It is a really fun game. Or do the one where somebody sits in a chair, and four people surround them. One person puts two fingers under one armpit, another person puts two fingers on the other armpit, a third person puts two fingers under their knee, and the last person puts two fingers under the other knee. Now the four people lift the person up. Take turns sitting in the chair. It is really easy and really fun, especially for the person in the chair. It is a lot more enjoyable if the person gets lifted really high. The toothpick game is really fun too. Everyone is in a circle, and one person starts out with one end of a toothpick in their mouth. They then pass it on to the next person using only their mouth. The other person bites the other end of the toothpick. This continues all the way around the circle. You could always do the human knot. It is really fun and challenging. You play it by standing in a circle and grabbing hands with two other people who are not standing next to you. It gets a lot of laughs from everyone. Hope I helped.

Work in Ocean city.

earn More money than other typical ';kid'; jobs .... $100 plus a day for caddying after some training. Local country clubs may have a caddie program. If they don't - be aggressive and tell them you are wanting to work towards a scholarship. Country club people are usualy very open with their time and pocket books. 16 is a little late to get started, but you could earn way more and have an outside shot at a scholarship.

I need crafts or games for teenagers with disabilities?
I use the Michael's craft store website for craft ideas. Basic sewing with those plastic things and multi-colored yarn was always an ongoing project.
Games - My students enjoy Connect Four, Uno, Yahtzee (run off ONLY the top half %26amp; enlarge the size), Memory, 21, Battleship, Chinese Checkers, Jenga, and games from the internet using an LCD projector. Two-player math baseball from FunBrain.com was their favorite. We used calculators for speed and accuracy.
I also encouraged them to make up their own card games. That required a lot of language practice in first, second, then, etc.I need crafts or games for teenagers with disabilities?

In terms of supply & demand, why teenagers are only pay, say $7 an hour in food joints like McDonalds?
Lots of teenagers chasing not enough jobs. Oddly, S%26amp;D also works in high-cost-of-living areas--in Washington, D.C. and New York, they have to pay $10.00/hr. to get ANYONE to work.
Why, why, why are young teenagers killing each other?
I just don't understand why there is so little regard for life...Why, why, why are young teenagers killing each other?
Teens have no role model ( beside decadent celebrities) and no spiritual guide in their life also they've been desensitised by TV, Rap music, violent videos games and movies which glamorise death and killing.....life has no value whatsoever for them so its easy to take someone Else'sWhy, why, why are young teenagers killing each other?
Because the white man has abondoned his young as a result of being attacked by aggresive primitives and gay people who infultrated the media and abused there influential positions also by attacking the white man. Other than that black men just don't father there children, by the most part as we understand it. Now all these fatherless, rebelious offspring are running riot and we just love it.
REAP WHAT YOU SOW.!
Because manners and civility are not being taught in the home, nor in the schools.
Also, there is far too much violence in popular culture now, so children exposed to it accept it as the norm and acceptable. Frankly, parents should forbid the use of violent video games -- and get rid of their televisions. But of course, that won't happen, so there you are.
I'm 46, and was raised by excellent parents. I have not seen their superb skills being practiced by parents in at least 20 years -- parents are far too permissive and let their children run rampant.
because there is no respect, mercy, discipline to say the least...
the way the world is going at moment is scary, people on tv are seen as role-models (them people are the one's who SWEAR,TAKE DRUGS,etc..people see that as fashion want to copy..
everyone should be spreading love, through simple means like even a smile,or hello, how are you?but ooo no people just want to be powerful by greed, lust etc if it means killing anyone in their path so be it which is soo wrong!
yeah i agree with you. its sad, they have no respect for life anymore. they just have an ';i dont care attitude';. the decisions they make affects alot of ppl %26amp; i dont think they realize it. i olny see it getting worse. the ';thug image'; is glamourized on tv %26amp; thats what they see everyday. but how do you break the cycle %26amp; show them there's more out there????
Because ever since Roe. V. Wade, Americans have been told explicitly by our Government at the HIGHEST LEVEL, that human life is cheap, and that young people are of very little value.
stupid destiny chef, she wasnt on about you, don't take it personally omg, she is on about the scumbag teens on the news
Because they have no positive role models, lack basic education and have access to weapons.
Too much TV and violent video games I guess. They must think if they shoot somebody, that person won't really die.
Or else they are just heartless yobs who just want to look big in front of their friends.
Where is this happening that atrocity?
cuz they got tired of killing there parents
america first uk follows media hypes it up need i say more
cos so many dads run off instead of being good dads to their kids
am a teen and i dont kill?

Even though the United States is among those countries with a falling teen pregnancy rate, it still has by far the highest rate of teen pregnancy throughout the western industrialized world.
In 2000, the total number of teen pregnancies in the United States was 821,810 (84 pregnancies per 1,000 people). Compare this with Canada whose total rate of teen pregnancies for 2000 was 38,600 (38 pregnancies per 1,000 people). Many other western industrialized countries, such as Sweden and France, have even lower teen pregnancy rates than Canada. When compared to other countries, it easy to understand why the United States is considered to have a serious problem when it comes to teen pregnancy.
In the United States, the 18 - 19 year-old age group has the highest rate of pregnancy followed by the 15 - 17 year-old age group. However, 15 鈥?17 year-old pregnancy rates dropped by as much as 23% between 1992 and 2000, while the rate for 18 to 19 year-olds only dropped by 11%.
Talk about something so easy a caveman/cave woman can do...they would be better to have saved 15% on their car insurance.
But this ratio has risen. You can probably find the anwer in a 2009 almanac (when it comes out).
1:4
one out of four teens between the ages 14-19 will become pregnant. it was on a poster in my health class :)
Not really sure but the ration of teens that screw up their lives this way is 100%.
Be more specfic.. where are you wanting your statistics from? USA? Europe?
Try googling it :)

How do we control the teenagers?
in the uk at the mo we seem to be going through this mob debate, but what can we do to control the youngsters?i cant see a answer because some of the parents seem to adopt the same attitude. How do we control the teenagers?
Punishments that fit the crime.
What deterrent is there, they can do as they like and they get away with it. What a joke. How do we control the teenagers?
In the Uk most parents see punishments as a smack on the wrist, or to be sent to your room, or to have no pocket money, or just a friendly telling off. Or most of the time, NOTHING.
Thats why we have such a high number of ASBOS and yobs on the streets.
Kids like that, and kids who do wrong need a good belting, plain and simple.
I was a teenager thirty years ago. Back then I was afraid of doing anything wrong because i thought I would be punished by the police or my teachers or the guy who owned the sweetshop or whatever.
Then it became illegal for a teacher to give you a clip round the ear hole, wrong for a copper to tell you off and downright anti-social for anybody to actually complain about teenage behaviour. It wasn't their fault, they had nowhere to go and nothing to do.
Now we've all grown up and had kids of our own. A lot of us have taught these principles to our kids but some, and it is not a minority, have taken what they were taught, IE, don't worry about people in authority, they can't do anything to you, and inculcated their offspring with this notion.
So young people today simply do not have the respect for authority that previous generations had.
It seems obvious to me that the rising levels of violent crime coincides with the maturing children of those who were around when society became more relaxed to people who were, after all and in the buzz phrase of the time, expressing themselves.
Fortunately this has taken some time to happen but i guess it was inevitable eventually, the yob generation terrorising the UK at the moment is a direct result of the uks obsession with rights without responsibilities. Over the past 20 years it has been thrust ed down young peoples throats that they are untouchable/invincible and that they have a right to exist without consideration or respect for anyone else. The police are powerless the courts are more likely to send a repeat offender to a holiday camp than a prison. Prisons are more like hotels. Punishment for serious crimes is a joke compared to minor crimes. This generation of pond life scumbag chavs are the spawn of another generation of scumbags so you dont stand a chance. Here in Spain the police Carry sticks and it is an offence to be disrespectful to the police. I have seen the police knock yobs to the ground for answering them back. If the UK didn't have such stupid politically correct wankers running the country it wouldn't be in such a state. Too late now i feel that's why I bailed out.
Take them too the morgue to show them what using knives can do, Also they should be allowed too visit the grieving mums of teenagers that have been hurt or killed by this mob culture.
Give them real parents
Aside from beating the snot out of them, which would not go over at all, not much. But making the parents suffer the consequences of their children might make them be a parent.
by trying to control everything they do and constantly telling them what they cant do makes them rebell against the rules and adopt unsocial behaviour such as smoking, drinking drugs etc they think they are being cool and big
Send them all to a form of boot camp for 2 yrs to learn something/trade or whatever mainly they need to control their gimmee gimmee habit...
I don't think you can solve a problem by trying to manage or control one of the symptoms.
You are right. The problem isn't the kids, it's the parents with their lack of respect, manners and discipline.

How do you wake up teenagers for school?
We have a 16 year old who has a hard time getting up for school. (Who doesn't have a hard time at that age, gezz). Question is: Parents: do you wake up your kids or do you make them do it on their own? Sometimes it's tempting to just let them be late for school and deal with it.
Teens: do / did you get up on your own or does someone help? How do you wake up teenagers for school?
They should have their own (loud) alarm clock. Then, parents do need to check that the teen is getting reading in time for school. It's a pain, but it's the parent's responsibility to make sure they attend school until they turn 18.How do you wake up teenagers for school?
my mom use to come in and sing .Hey, hey you lazy head get your hiney out of bed. sang it like a cheerleader. Then she would turn on my stereo and leave the room if I was not up when she returned she would turn it up a little louder and continue until I would finally get out of bed.
put drops of ice cold water on the outer rim of their ear. the cold sensation sliding down the ear will make them jump up
cruel, funny, and it works
I would ask them how they would like to handle it......you stand there and nag at them for half an hour...or just let them be late. Don't offer to drop everything and shuttle them to school if they won't get up. Another alternative.... a cup of ice water will make even the laziest teenager get up out of bed. And if you do that a few times....you shouldn't have any problem getting them out of bed.
I love this question because I have been struggling with this for some time now. My second son would sleep till one in the afternoon and that would just drive me up a wall. (OK if he went out the night before I can understand) Because I harassed him about it for years. When his bigger brother went abroad to study he told me that he was getting an apt. I said OK if you feel that you are a man go ahead. He has his apt now but does not keep it clean wears are always piled high in the sink and the apt is always dusty with things thrown about. My advice is to buy an alarm clock for them. I know it is frustrating
Make them get up. Determine what time they need to wake and make them get up. Soon enough their body will not be abelt o sleep past that time or much past that time. My daughter taught me this. I can no longer sleep past 0630.
you can throw another 16 year old kid very hard in his face, when the morning has come. The kid of your neighbour for example: if he have problem to wake too, then you can solve two problems in one...
First buy an alarm clock. They will later figure out the snooze button and hit it while they are asleep. Go into their room and give your kids a wake up massage. My uncle tried it with all 5 of his kids and it worked. Within seconds they were up an also very happy.
If you don't already do this, get up early enough to cook them breakfast. It's amazing how the smell of food can motivate kids - it's all behavioral science. Your 16 yo is old enough to use an alarm clock, so get him one. Science has already determined that teenagers' circadian rhythms make them stay up late and sleep late. The only reason we can figure school systems don't change school hours for middle school and high schoolers is that the timeframe doesn't coincide with parents' work schedules. Having your child participate in sports helps tire them out so they want to go to bed earlier. You'll do your children a favor by making them responsible for getting themselves up. It's part of being an adult and part of preparation for the real work world.
I usually get myself up but sometimes, if i don't get up on time my mom will yell up for me to get up and I do.
I got up on my own as a teen, because if we were late it was baaaad....i would say get him/her an alarm that has a radio feature (much easier to wake up that way). Make it so that they want to be on time...like they have to take the bus to school if they sleep in or they dont get breakfast or something if they dont get up on time. For my sister and I, if we were late we had to catch a bus when it was really crazy and crowded, and we HATED it...we were ALWAYS on time!
If this doesnt work, open their door and turn on the light. If you have a dog, send the dog in to jump on your kid. In general, if they wake up more pleasantly they will be more likely to stay up.
A bucket of cold water.apply once only as they usually wake up without any problems afterwards.
I have 2 teens who sleep upstairs from me...every morning I holler for them to get up and the do. BUT alarm clocks can do the same thing.
APPROACH WITH CAUTION (lol)
When my son was 16 he had to be in bed by eleven because he had to be up by 6..that's not even getting 8 hrs of sleep but he didn't even like that 11:00pm bedtime...they think cause they are teens they can be up at all hours - but even if they were adults - with a job sometimes that means getting up early - so you have to go to bed early like it or not...so if it's just a matter of schedule - he's 16 ..time to learn responsibility - he's going to have college and/or work in two years - must get used to it now..
But...
Some teens no matter how early they may get to bed...just need more sleep because they are teens..however, STILL have to get up and at 'em in the morning...parents are going to be around to drag their lil behinds out of bed for the rest of their lives..and it's a learned thing..you have to have that down pat in your teens to survive later on...or they miss classes in college or can't keep jobs for showing up late all the time....gotsta gotsta learn.
If they aren't out of bed on time and late for school...I grounded 'em. Period. End of conversation..lol
my kids use an alarm clock - hasn't failed yet
cattle prods generally do quite well....
Well, I know this is not the information you are looking for, but if they miss a few days in school and have to serve time in a juvenile detention center, it may wake them up!
I raised five teens - and yes they were hard to get up for school -- but mainly, if I ensured they got to bed at least by 10 (earlier if possible), it was always easier. I gave them an additional couple of dollars also at the end of each week on Friday if they were up and made it to school every day without being tardy. This helped a lot!
You just answered you own question, Go ahead, succumb to temptation, %26amp; let him be late. There's nothing like a good'ol negative consequence to motivate someone.
To be fair though, lay it on the line. Tell him, no more wake up calls. Tomorrow it's his responsibility to get the necessary sleep, set his own alarm, %26amp; wake up %26amp; get to his 1st class ON TIME.
He probably knows the consequenses that he'll meet at school if he's late, but feel free to lump on a few of your own too.
He's 16 not 5. So it's time for him to learn how to be a responsible adult. Oh, he'll test your resolve for awhile, but bite the bullet %26amp; let him be late a few times, %26amp; things might get worse before they get better, but it's better he learn this now than later on in life when he keeps getting fired from jobs that he's always late for.
If I didn't make my point with you just read the answer from ';Meticulous'; . That's your future if you do nothing!
I agree with the alarm clocks %26amp; knock on the door %26amp; double check that they R out of bed %26amp; rolling toward out the front door. 16 YRS old may be a little old 2 snatch the covers off of. MOM might find the hormonal surprize she may not want 2 C.
Good Luck,
Mira
My son is 12 and he is difficult to get up some mornings. Boys at that age need extra sleep as he is still ';growing'; so to speak. I turn on the light and shake him first...if that doesn't work then I go back in and throw the covers off...and then if that doesn't work then I go in and tell him that he just missed the bus and he will be walking to school since he wouldn't get up on time. Usually works like a charm...LOL
hmmmmm..TEENS???.AM OVER IT..STILL MY MOM OR DAD WAKES ME UP....AND I GOT TO SLEEP AGAIN WEN THEY ARE GONE........HAHAHA...HI BT ITS GOOD THAT U SHOULD WAKE UP UR CHILDREN...IS'NT THAT GOOD??MAKE UR CHILDREN FEEL UR NEED...TELL THEM ALTHOUGH THEY'VE GROWN OLD BUT STILL THEY ARE KIDS FOR THE PArents.....

I bought both my girls a clock and had them get themselves up but then i always had mine set also to just make sure they didn't over sleep, then when they got older, i didn't even set mine, they got up and out the door, if they were late they had to deal with it, they need to show some responsibility also.

I bought both my girls a clock and had them get themselves up but then i always had mine set also to just make sure they didn't over sleep, then when they got older, i didn't even set mine, they got up and out the door, if they were late they had to deal with it, they need to show some responsibility also.

How do i get my teenagers to have sex and get pregnant on the sims 2?
They can't..How do i get my teenagers to have sex and get pregnant on the sims 2?
First, download and install the teen pregnancy mod: http://compsimgames.about.com/gi/dynamic鈥?/a>
It will enable the Whoo-hoo option for teens and allow them to have babies.
If you want, you can also download the Risky Whoo-hoo mod, that allows you to have babies by accident: http://nene.modthesims2.com/download.php鈥?/a>
If that doesn't work (It will work for sure), you can press CTRL + SHIFT + C to open up the console. Then, type in boolprop. Not as fun though.

Why is it normal for teenagers to have acene?
All acne is a disorder of the pilosebaceous unit, which is made up of a hair follicle, sebaceous gland, and a hair. These units are found everywhere on the body except on the palms, soles, top of the feet, and the lower lip. The number of pilosebaceous units is greatest on the face, upper neck, and chest. Sebaceous glands produce a substance called sebum, which is responsible for keeping the skin and hair moisturized. During adolescence sebaceous glands enlarge and produce more sebum under the influence of hormones, also called androgens. After about age 20, sebum production begins to decrease. Why is it normal for teenagers to have acene?
Because our hormones are all over the place! I know that's the reason but i'm not sure how hormones cause a blockage of bacteria in our faces, it seems really weird! Anyway, most teenagers have acne and nearly all of them get at least one spot in their life time, if they don't they are extremely lucky!
=]Why is it normal for teenagers to have acene?
Hormonal imbalances.
With all the new things your body has to deal with (puberty, developing sexual organs, etc), your body takes a long time to find the right balance of hormones. It is common to have too much in this time, and it causes skin outbreaks, along with many other problems.
Hormones and oil!
Hormones- Everything is balancing out and growing up. That triggers some gland and makes acne.
Oil- These hormones make some people have oily skin and hair, and bangs are becomiung something of a trend!
Hormones cause changes in lots of things, including the amount of oils in your body, expecially your face. The oils are what causes the acne, usually, but other things like stress and diet can contribute as well. Wash your face often :)
because of hormones.
I have never really had any acne at all, but having it is nomal.
hormones.
I was one of the lucky ones to not have acne at all. yay.
i dont know....i dont get acne for some reason.
Hormones gone wild.

How do I control my teenagers' computer time????
When I can't log off myself!! : - )How do I control my teenagers' computer time????
Uhh, get off?How do I control my teenagers' computer time????
haha, try controlling mine...you'll find it's impossible and give up.........I would try tying them up.
Already do that!!!!! Change the password everyday. It's a job, but, it's my job...DO it every other day. She's my baby OK. BUT HEY, I still can take it away!!!!!! I know.... I have one at 14.
Turn off the breaker or fuse to his /her room or move the computer to the family room %26amp; only allow certain times that it can be used.
We did that for awhile.
Then my oldest daughter won one from some contest that she entered.
haha its very addicting hey?? but you will have to be very strong %26amp; give them a set time each to stop the fights or buy them one each %26amp; one for ya self! i hate sharing with hubby so glad he is not as keen so i should SHUT UP about how good answers is, so far he hates it haha
take away his/her computer.
i dont know other than learning how to exercise some self-control. good luck.
pull the power plug!
use the computer all the time that way they dont have a chance to get on.
well, for starters you could put that b!tch, lipstick's head through it and that would stop both of you from using it, but she's not worth the cost of a new computer. So , I am fresh out of ideas.
get rid of internet
sleep w/ ur computers keyboard!!!
put a password on the computer and make sure your the only one who know the password and they have to ask you if they can use the computer and you have to to type the password in for them to get on
If it's a girl...
tell her that she'll get baggy eyes if she hangs out on the computer for a long time. That'll stop her.
I agree with the ';rapist';.
tell him you will rape him
How can he be on when you hog it all?
You have two?
Lead by example, if not, tell him he not allowed on because he did not do as was told, I don't know its a hard one.
