What's the problem with teenagers having sex?

i hear around me teenagers having sex and stuff. and im a virgin which is okay because i respect girls. but is having sex for 13-18 years olds a okay thing?What's the problem with teenagers having sex?
I think the problem is too many kids are engaging in risky situations without a condom or any protection.

how do i put this firmly...... i do not think it is right to have sex before 18 only because of the fact that a teenagers brain isnt fully developed even at age 18 but not even untill about 20-25 in some cases. however i myself have been active since i was 17. no i do not regret it however, i do wish i could have waited. Granted i have not been fully active in the past year (i just turned 18 on may 23 2009) i have done it a total of five times, and that was with only two different people. it is not right of me to do but i think if you are going to do it before 18 like i have then you better be at least 16 or 17, and be a bit smart about it, ie: condoms or birth control or what have you. dont get the girl prego and dont become prego ladies. I do not think i would be at all happy to find my 15 year old sister is active, nor happy that she is prego, not that she is but i know i wouldnt be happy if it happened. My morals are shot, i have not followed them to my best abilities, all i can do is hope that i cn get those around me to do so, and hopefully help them out in some way or another
It is a problem, for those who think it isn't. Girls and boys shouldn't be having sex that young, there is a part of an adolescences brain that isn't developed... So making wrong decisions is going to be very common. Do you know why young girls have sex? It's because of their self esteem and they probably don't get love and attention from men (such as fathers in their life) so they often get picked upon by boys (sometimes older men) that find them to be an easy target for sex. Mainly it hurts girls, cause they automatically think there is a connection with the guy she does it with and that he loves her but when she finds that he doesn't feel that way... Her self esteem is going to in a crap shoot.





Personally I think you its ok when you hit 15 or 16 but its honestly your choice to do it or not.

Yes girls are ready to have children when they start having their periods. But that was back then, people didn't have much of a choose to get married and have children, thats was the only way women could step up in society... Thats how society once rolled. Now girls have more paths of life to choose from. But now its the 20st century, there is so much to worry about. What about a girls mind? Her body? Her spirit? What happens when thats all broken down? All because she made a choice to had sex. So no, its not okay.
Think about it this way...in the 1800s and before that it was completely NORMAL for 13 year old to get married and have kids. The only reason sex exists is to make babies (it only feels good so that we'd actually do it!). When girls start their periods they are ready to have kids. Those are the facts. All because for some reason people are having issues with biological facts it doesn't mean there is anything wrong with having sex. Its normal.





The only reason 18 has anything to do with your age is because the government says it does.
It's not a problem because it doesn't concern you.





And I'm pretty sure it's considered okay for an 18 year old, a legal adult, to have sex =]





EDIT: To the person who said it's irresposible to end up with a baby, if anything, it is responsible. If you get pregnant, it's better to keep your child than abort it... :] So how's that irresponsible?

Its irresponsible to go get pregnant when you are not in a situation where you can provide for your child. Doesnt matter if you keep or have an abortion, it was an irresponsible decision.. (this also include ADULTS who cannot properly provide for a child too tho).. very few teens can actually provide for their own child.. most still rely heavily on their parents.
well the younger side of those numbers, makes me concerned that they dont know what they are doing, and the issues it can cause but 16 - 18 I think as long as they are responsible then its ok, Im pregnant at 18, and I dont feel any less of a person because of it.

It seems that now a days its ok as long as you don't get knocked up or get some sort of STD
